Fantoomwijk Ravi Sandberg
FANTOMWIJK is the urgent, disturbing and experimental work of director Ravi Sandberg about the Tweebosbuurt in Rotterdam. The neighbourhood was demolished to make way for luxury housing, forcing residents to leave their homes.
By using different filming styles, such as infrared and drone footage, the viewer is constantly torn between opposing perspectives – between the system and the people affected by it.
PHANTOMWIJK gives a voice to the evicted residents of a neighborhood that was once a vibrant part of the city. A poignant short film about the human cost of urban development, representing the global problem of gentrification in large cities.
