Emma Rawicz

Jamie Cullum calls her 'a stunning new talent' and the press is unanimously enthusiastic: British saxophonist Emma Rawicz is not to be missed.

The young star from London made a name for herself on Instagram with videos in which she showed off her impressive skills on tenor sax, flute and bass clarinet. In her own compositions she takes her cue from legendary saxophonists/composers such as Joe Henderson and Wayne Shorter. Colour is the main theme on her debut album Chroma, on which Emma emphasises that she has synaesthesia: for her, music is inextricably linked to colour and other sensory impressions. It resulted in a layered, orchestral-sounding album on which she is supported by super talents from British jazz. You will hear influences from Indian music, Latin, fusion to singer-songwriter. Her second album INKYRA will be released soon, an exciting new project in which rock, fusion and singer-songwriter music come together with jazz as a familiar home base. The band consists of musicians with a large dose of their own personality and energy. On stage, the chemistry is bubbling. Expect lightning-fast solos, collective improvisation and infectious grooves!
