Een feest voor het oog

The exhibition 'A Feast for the Eye' shows in a concise selection the development of Chabot's oeuvre and the main themes he focused on in his work; people, animals and the landscape, with the painting Brand van Rotterdam as a lasting benchmark in time. The presentation takes place on the occasion of 30 years of the Chabot Museum in Museum Park Rotterdam.

The Chabot Museum presents and positions itself from the various acquired collections as a museum for international expressionism in a pearl of the Nieuwe Bouwen. The building and collection, architecture and heritage, have become intertwined in relation to each other and to Rotterdam.

The collection is made up of special donations, bequests, inheritances and long-term loans. Stories from the past and present can be visualized in this way. Over time, a network of (Rotterdam) collectors, private individuals, artists and stakeholders has been established with lasting traces in the collection; Chabot inspires and connects.
