With Dressed Like Boys, Jelle Denturck, known as the frontman of DIRK., leaves the rough rock sound behind and dives into a world of melancholic pop and timeless sounds. Inspired by greats such as Bowie, Lou Reed and Elton John, he combines warm tape recorders, strings and Rhodes pianos with personal and sometimes confrontational lyrics about freedom, love and identity. His debut single Nando is an intimate window into his deepest feelings. Where he turned up the volume with DIRK., Dressed Like Boys offers space for nuance and vulnerability.
