Doorloop

Doorloop is an innovative Friday afternoon drink organized by two former Scapino Ballet dancers who bring together different art disciplines in a unique setting. From dance and music to performance art and video art, you can experience it all at Doorloop. It is the perfect opportunity to let go on a Friday evening after a busy work week.

About the program:

Heidi Vierthaler is a choreographer, dancer and teacher who has danced with several international dance companies, including Ballet Gothenburg and Ballet Frankfurt under the direction of William Forsythe. She created work for Scapino Ballet Rotterdam and collaborated with students from Codarts, Seattle Dance Project and the Amsterdam University of the Arts.

Cristina Commisso worked with companies in New York, Germany and the Netherlands, including Scapino Ballet Rotterdam, before starting her career as a freelancer. Her solo project She Opened Her Clenched Fist and Fell Into the Midst of Everything, supported by the Senator für Kultur in Bremen, grew into a short film that was shown at various international film festivals, including Brussels and London. She is currently collaborating with Cocoon Dance.

Sebastian van der Born's work combines digital and physical spaces into an immersive experience. He studied at the St. Joost School of Art & Design in Breda and worked with visual artist Noralie for well-known artists such as Philipp Thimm (Apparat) and for the Van Gogh Museum.

About us:

Bryndis Ragna Brynjolfsdottir and Mara Hulspas combine their years of experience at Scapino Ballet Rotterdam in this unique interdisciplinary event. Bryndis, now a photographer and previously employed at Scapino Ballet for 15 years, and Mara, former dancer at Scapino Ballet and Introdans and a creative entrepreneur, founded Stichting Dansers voor Dans together in 2019. They organize interdisciplinary location events with a main focus on the performing arts. Their shared vision and artistic expertise guarantee an evening full of high-quality dance performances.
