Every year on May 4, we commemorate all civilians and military personnel who have been killed or murdered in the Kingdom of the Netherlands or anywhere else in the world since the outbreak of the Second World War, in war situations and during peace operations.
We commemorate those who have been killed or murdered since the outbreak of the Second World War , both in the Kingdom of the Netherlands and abroad. We also honour those who gave their lives in later war situations and during peace operations, while fighting for safety and justice. With respect and gratitude, we carry on their memory, so that the lessons of the past are not lost.
