Deborah Slijkhuis in BIRD!
Deborah Slijkhuis is one of the local hosts during BoogieBall and she brings her unmistakable musical energy to the stage.
As one of the four hosts, she plays between 1am and 4am, introducing you to her fearless, emotional and genre-free music.
Deborah, originally from Zwolle, started playing classical piano at a young age, and expanded her musical horizons through bass, singing and composition. Her music is anything but bound to one genre; “I prefer to just call it music,” she says. In addition to her performances and compositions, she records and mixes her own music in her own studio that she shares with guitarist Sebastiaan Visser.
Her debut album Phrases of Freedom (2021) was about the search for freedom within herself, followed by Rosa (2023), a personal album dedicated to the theme of family. In November 2024 she will release her third album Soul Searching, a collection of both old and new songs that she wrote over the years.
With her music, Deborah hopes that people can feel more emotions and thus give more meaning to life.
