This exhibition is about the history of Bospolder Tussendijken with the forgotten bombing and the equally forgotten reconstruction.
On 31 March 1943, the Rotterdam district Tussendijken was accidentally bombed by the Allies, leaving 13,000 people homeless. Despite its enormous impact, this event received little attention after the war and is known as the Forgotten Bombardment. A special exhibition highlights the history of Bospolder Tussendijken, with historical photos, personal stories and audio fragments. A lecture by a reconstruction expert offers additional insight into the architecture and restoration of the district, keeping the memory of this forgotten piece of Rotterdam history alive.
