De Theatertroep - Blauwe Lucht

Hell, that's the others, wrote Sartre.

Terschelling is hell, says writer Arie Storm.

Arie Storm adapted his novel Schoonheidsdrift for the stage especially for the Theater Troop. The result? A slapstick comedy about Tom, who visits the holiday island with his girlfriend, to somewhat reluctantly take a writing course there and less reluctantly to visit his father-in-law, who owns half the island. After a modest explosion destroys his holiday home, Tom's story starts to spiral out of control and the writing course unexpectedly comes in handy.

Get ready for a true Wadden comedy about a sandy prison from which it is difficult to escape. Brought to you by De Theatertroep, a six-member Amsterdam collective consisting of Rosa Asbreek, Patrick Duijtshoff, Kyrian Esser, Elisabeth ten Have, Timo Huijzendveld and Nicoline Raatgever.

Blauwe Lucht is now the third play that Arie Storm wrote, after Circus Reve and De Dostoevsky van de Polder. You can also know him from novels such as Listening to how houses breathe (2013), The last testament of Frans Kellendonk (2015) and The horror theater of Dutch literature (2019).
