It is often assumed that a 'real' woman is also a mother.

Women are said to have a 'maternal instinct' that tells them they want children and how to care for those children, but is that true?

In The Mother Monologues, three actresses perform ten monologues per evening about the struggles, taboos and sharp edges of motherhood. Because being a mother, or becoming a mother, or perhaps never becoming a mother, is not just something.

The Mother Monologues is an evening with a lot of humor for mothers, non-mothers, fathers and other people.
