Meet the Sax family : eight saxophones brought to life in a magical way. They all have their own character and their own sound – wait, can they talk? Just like real families, there is tragedy and humor in this story, with the instruments in recognizable leading roles.

The Sax family is moving soon: Grandpa Sax is looking after his three grandchildren amidst dozens of boxes. They have a good time together, but there is also bickering. Big Sister Sax and Big Brother Sax have naughty plans or even bully Little Sax (Schuifie). With all the family hustle and bustle around her, Schuifie sometimes wants to disappear into her own fantasy world...

The Berlage Saxophone Quartet represents the new generation of saxophone ensembles that have become an indispensable part of classical music. This quartet uses its in-depth knowledge of the profession to stage innovative, versatile performances. De Familie Sax is their first family performance, for which alto saxophonist Peter Vigh has composed new music especially.
