De Buren van Marlies - Improvisatietheater

Marlies' Neighbors is a group of people who love improvisation. They don't know how the performance will go. It's always a surprise!

Improvisational theatre was once developed in Canada by Keith Johnstone to teach actors how to deal with stage fright. It has now become a worldwide independent theatre form, in which groups seek each other out to improvise with each other. This can be done in various ways, such as a Maestro, in which you receive an assignment from a director individually and in groups of two/three/four and you have to play on the spot. Without preparation. Or a longform in which a group plays scenes from someone's life, but that is also improvised.

During this performance we will hold a theatre sports competition. A very popular form of improvisation theatre. Two teams of 4 people challenge each other to play improvised scenes as well/fun as possible. Points are awarded by 3 strict judges, but the audience also has a vote. By means of a colour, the audience indicates who they liked best. The audience is important anyway. They are an important source of inspiration. Suggestions will be asked for such as 'what is on your nightstand' or 'a place where you can dance well'. And one of the teams will then play a scene about that. There is musical accompaniment, so we regularly burst into song. We hope to meet you all on October 12, so that together we can make it a fun, hilarious and sometimes moving evening.

Get ready for an evening full of fun!
