Dansvoorstelling HEAR_ME gaat 6 december in Premiere!

Imagine: we leave our current world, full of social unwritten rules. We immerse ourselves in an unknown world, where we meet again and a new story connects us. Here, six dancers – one deaf and five hearing – speak one language that goes beyond words, stimulates all the senses and redefines our current way of communicating. With HEAR_ME, Remy Tilburg makes his debut as a choreographer, in which he questions and renews the way we communicate with a groundbreaking movement language.

For choreographer Remy Tilburg, known for his participation in So You Think You Can Dance, a strong connection with others is a fundamental need. In his debut as a choreographer, he intuitively shows with HEAR_ME how we can return to the core of our humanity, by breaking free from the constant pressure to perform or to adopt another identity. According to Remy, this layer of expectations prevents us from truly connecting with each other in modern society.

THE_AND Music introduces the innovative SoundShirt technology for the first time in the Netherlands during this performance. This shirt, equipped with 28 vibration sensors on the sleeves, chest and back, converts music, animations, light and choreography into tangible vibrations. This allows not only the music, but the entire choreography to be experienced physically, making the performance accessible to the deaf and hard of hearing.

Please note: The SoundShirts are exclusively available for deaf and hard of hearing people, to give them the opportunity to physically experience the performance.
