With the Current Traces series, OMI visualizes current visions within the practice of architecture and art. A new generation of artists, architects and designers shines their light on the city and the landscape: with innovative ideas, contemporary designs and impressive art, they reacquaint you with the places around us.
The exhibition Current Traces #02 - No Time to Waste brings together three contemporary visions of innovative reuse. During demolition and new construction, used materials and (raw) materials are often thrown away. But what can be made of all that is left behind? Rotterdam designers Md-2 architects, Stadsgrond and Studio-Method show how residual materials can be reused in creative ways. Leftover clay from construction sites as raw material for new building blocks, the surreal upcycling of residual materials into new objects or demolition material as the basis for spatial and social interventions. In what way can the innovative ideas of these young designers renew contemporary design and construction practice?
