Two fantastic musicians in a new duo! Saxophonist Chris Potter and pianist Craig Taborn have been playing together in various formations for two decades and know each other inside and out. Their collaboration began in 2000 in Potter's band Underground. In 2019, the companions visited LantarenVenster with the Circuits quartet. In duo form, you can expect an interplay where the sparks fly.
Chris Potter has a long and impressive career behind him and is a welcome guest at LantarenVenster. Besides his own bands, he has played with almost everyone: Pat Metheny, Dave Holland, Joe Lovano, Steely Dan… the list goes on. Craig Taborn has also visited LantarenVenster many times. His performances were unforgettable time and time again.
In this new duo, Potter and Taborn draw from their entire career. Expect an acoustic-electric buffet of standards and original compositions, performed by two master musicians and improvisers.
