Chibi Ichigo

Brussels-based Limburg-Tatar artist Chibi Ichigo (Japanese for 'little strawberry') makes even the stiffest feet move with her ultra-danceable combination of 90's synthwave, rave and rap. Her oeuvre initially started as a hip-hop project, with a clear choice for up-tempo beats. Now she is gradually making the transition to dance, but even that cannot be limited to one genre. It is obvious; Chibi does exactly what she wants, and she does it just fine.

The concept of her second, albeit only eight-song, album is already quite clear from the title track HALF 1: as pleasant as an evening with friends can be, it is just as pleasant to lie alone in bed after half past one. Because you are enough. Or simply put: self-love, but on pounding beats that swing between gabber and EDM. Expect an energetic and unique show with pumping drums that feels like a rave at 6am.
