Changez

On the day after Black Friday, BlueCity transforms the old Tropicana swimming pool into a green department store with the largest clothing swap in Rotterdam, a textile repair café, a sustainable market, various workshops and a restaurant with sustainable food and drinks. Together we make a fist against the shopping madness at this time of year. No bargains, but new second-hand pearls, repairs of your favorite clothes and sustainable December gifts.

At the end of November, Black Friday deals will be flying around your ears again. Big companies are chasing you on a buying frenzy, but behind the mass production and consumption (and subsequent discarding and returning) of clothing and items lies a world of pollution and waste. That's why we say: F*ck Black Friday. Time for Change(z)!

Together with cool partners, we will show you how it can be done the day after Black Friday. The Swapshop will be hosting Rotterdam's largest clothing swap for the sixth year in a row during Changez, the textile makers from the textile repair café of Het Wijkpaleis will teach you how to fix the holes and buttons in your broken clothes and Buurman Rotterdam and Roua Atelier will be giving cool workshops with natural textile paint and wall art made from residual wood. At the market you can also shop for cool circular and sustainable gifts, from circular Rotterdam wines (yes, really!) to natural cosmetics. Reserve your free time slot and experience how much fun circular and second-hand shopping is!

Sustainable food and drinks

As befits a real department store, there is also a bar where you can enjoy circular, waste-free and local snacks and drinks. In fact, this year the entrance and exit of Changez will take place via BlueCity's Bar Stroom. Start with a snack and a drink and then walk to De Dome, where the Changez program takes place.

Free time slots

Access to Changez is free, we only ask you to reserve a time slot in advance. You can enter within this time slot, and once inside you are free to stay as long as you want! Please note: for the guided tours and workshops you need a paid ticket, see below. With a ticket for a workshop or guided tour you no longer need to reserve a separate time slot for Changez.
