Boogieball Friday 2025

Boogieball is back! This year for the sixteenth time, and it will once again be the nightly closing event of the North Sea Jazz Festival.

On Friday 11 and Saturday 12 July, BIRD will open its doors again for the coolest afterparties in town. Everything is possible here: artists from the festival itself can just walk in to give a jam session or get behind the turntables. Expect spontaneous surprises and a night you don't want to miss! BIRD is where the afterparty really comes to life!

Where NN North Sea Jazz ends, Boogieball begins

The afterparties where visitors can come face to face with the world's best soul and jazz artists for two musical nights. Usher, Macy Gray, Mos Def, Anderson.Paak, Bootsy Collins, Roy Hargrove, Janelle Monaé and Questlove, for example, all came to the stage in the Hofbogen in the middle of the night after their performance in Ahoy for the official afterparty. On both days the afterparty starts around 23:00.

Boogieball Friday

On Friday 11th July 2025, BIRD will welcome none other than Joe Armon-Jones, the masterful keyboardist and producer from London, who combines his unique sound with deep jazz and soul influences. Together with our local hosts Bnny Hunna, Deborah Slijkhuis, Peter Somuah and JUNYA he will lead the iconic jam session, where anything is possible and the energy is unprecedentedly high!

Boogieball Saturday

On Saturday, July 12, 2025, BIRD welcomes the legendary Ghost-Note, the project of Grammy-winning duo Robert “Sput” Searight and Nate Werth, who bring their irresistible mix of funk, jazz and soul to Boogieball.

More artists will be announced in the run-up to the festival – stay tuned!
