Boekpresentatie Umwana en workshop door Mack van Gageldonk
Umwana is a picture book based on the true story of Naomi, a disabled girl from Rwanda. Illustrator Mack van Gageldonk gives accessible drawing workshops and personally presented the first copy to Naomi.
The picture book Umwana tells the inspiring story of Naomi, a disabled girl from Rwanda. The book is based on real events and shows how strength, hope and creativity come together. During his trip to Rwanda, illustrator Mack van Gageldonk gave simple and accessible drawing workshops in which children learned to draw animals, and he presented the very first copy of Umwana to Naomi herself. The workshops are part of a broader educational project around the book. The Liliane Fonds supports this initiative, which contributes to awareness, inclusivity and opportunities for children with disabilities worldwide.
