In the spring of 2025, FENIX will open: the first museum in the world that tells migration stories with art. Part of the permanent collection is a maze built from thousands of suitcases from home and abroad. The wanderings of many suitcases are known. Amatmoekrim and Benali chose the most compelling stories and tell how the travelers fared.
Adriaan van Dis introduces the stories with an extensive reflection on the meaning of the suitcase and the phenomenon of migration.
