Boekpresentatie Bart Vlietstra en Sander de Kramer
Why is everyone suddenly playing padel? Where does this sport come from? How did it grow so fast? What do the lives of the best players look like? Why do all those (former) footballers start playing padel en masse? And all those celebrities? But also accountants, garbage men, models, farmers, administrative assistants, solar panel installers and millionaires? Is this something that will last or is it a short-lived hype? How do you get better? Why does every padel player walk around with a smile on his face?
Journalists, friends and padel enthusiasts Sander de Kramer and Bart Vlietstra all wondered about that too. They went in search of the answers, swinging from a sensational meeting with the inventor in Mexico City, to Barcelona, Buenos Aires, Miami, Alicante and Brussels to the PSV training complex, where Guus Hiddink had the first court built in the Netherlands and Rotterdam Ahoy to follow in the footsteps of the raging tournament directors Rafael van der Vaart and Fatima Moreiro de Melo.
They spoke extensively with the most important top players and entrepreneurs and paddled with Johan Cruijff, Frank Lammers, Fernando Belasteguín, Robin van Persie and many others. They played in a church, at a top tournament and on the very first official competition court in Mexico. Extra: a leaflet with all kinds of tips and tricks to improve your game.
