Boekenweek 2025 - Vier 90 Jaar Lezersfeest in Museum Rotterdam
During the last day of the book week, you will get free access to the museum with your book week gift. Museum Rotterdam also organizes a free children's workshop: Bobby's Secret Mission!
The Book Week celebrates its 90th anniversary this year! With the theme Your Mother Language, this edition focuses on the language in which we read, write and share stories. During the closing Sunday on 23 March, you can use the Book Week gift to get free admission to museums throughout the Netherlands, including Museum Rotterdam '40 – '45 NU.
Museum Rotterdam invites you to discover how language connects, even in the darkest times of war in Rotterdam. View letters, diaries and stories written in different native languages. And experience how people hoped, cursed and loved in their own words in a time of war.
Museum Rotterdam also offers a free children's workshop: Bobby's Secret Mission! Young visitors dive into the exciting story of Bobby ten Broek, a secret agent in Rotterdam during the Second World War. He secretly sent messages to England via Morse code. During this workshop, you will search for the code word and send it via Morse code. An educational activity in which a special language from the war years is discovered!
