BlackBirds Festival XL Battle 2025 Dalton Jansen
On June 7, 2025, we celebrate the sixth edition of the BlackBirds Festival. This annual event in Theater Rotterdam is an evening full of dynamic and spectacular dance battles.
What can you expect?
A dance floor full of skills and styles. During the dance battle, talented dancers will compete for the coveted main prize of €1000. Nine jury members – each with their own background and specialism – will give assignments and assess technique, expression and originality. Expect energy. Expect guts. Expect next level moves. And as if that wasn't enough: Ghetto Funk Collective will close the evening with a performance.
A meeting place for a new generation of dance lovers
Since its inception, the BlackBirds Festival has grown into a vibrant and valuable meeting place for everyone who dances or loves dance. The festival stands for inclusivity and offers an open and representative environment for everyone. The goal is to grow the dance community in Rotterdam and beyond and to build bridges between different dance communities.
