What if we give our suppressed anger the space it craves? In Bitemarks on her tongue, maker Sue-Ann Bel creates a space for her voice.

She peels away her scream layer by layer and experiences a longing underneath: a longing for security in the harsh reality of an unpredictable world. In this physical, visual, musical journey she slowly begins to wonder whether she should have stayed in her mother's womb. Carried by the warm amniotic fluid and in silence she fantasizes about that liberating feeling.

This version of Bitemarks on her tongue is a further developed version. Sue-Ann admits to her own fatigue as a black woman and fighting injustice, but at the same time also draws strength from taking a step back. How liberating is it to scream? Is that still the case? Is yelling necessary to hit the emotional reset button?
