Binnenbeest

Sometimes it feels like there is a wolf inside me. Then I want to growl, run or howl really loudly. Sometimes, when I wobble in my chair or swing from lampposts, I feel more like a monkey. And sometimes, I see that in others around me too. Do you recognize that? Your neighbor looks a bit like a growling bear. And your niece is like a hopping pony. But in most people, their inner beast is hidden away, tamed and locked up. Isn't that sad?

In the cheerful family dance performance Binnenbeest, five scientists welcome you to their laboratory. They follow a fixed routine and are busy with glasses, counting and writing. But then their inner beasts raise their heads and they increasingly fall out of step. Machine movements change into acrobatic jumps, dignified music bursts into swinging flamenco and the carefully stacked glasses fly through the air. Binnenbeest is a performance about order and chaos, and the fun that can be found in both.
