Bilk

The three men from Essex-based Bilk clearly have no patience for long, poetic musings or endless solos. Their straightforward mix of dirty garage rock and energetic indie rock is selling out venues in their home country. Armed with an endless supply of no-nonsense, energetic bangers, they hit you like a sledgehammer from the first note, without room for pauses or breaths, as they fire one raw song after another at you. Full of passion and bravado, they tear through their set, with songs rarely lasting longer than three minutes. Powerful in all their simplicity, raw and extremely effective.

To date, the band has released two EPs and a debut album, garnering a surprising amount of attention for a group with such an unpolished style. Their rap-like vocals blend surprisingly well with the guitar-driven hooks and verses, resulting in a sound that feels both unique and familiar.
