Baroeg On Tour @Grounds: Riffsniffer presents: Planet Of Zeus
Athenian-based Planet of Zeus has been riffing away since the turn of the century: the band spends more time on the road than at home drinking ouzo.
From living rooms to stadiums: Planet of Zeus plays wherever they can plug in their amplifiers. Due to the many performances, the band has developed their own sound that can best be described as a mix of dirty stoner and old-fashioned hard rock with hints of southern rock. Think of the Allman Brothers in the skin of Josh Homme and his mates, where guitarist Stellias blows you away with fat riffs in his old school uniform. Due to covid, their last tour was cancelled and they went into the studio to reinvent themselves. 'Afterlife', their sixth studio album, is a test of strength between the beauty and the curse of human existence.
Originally from Cyprus, the five-piece Stonus has been making the world unsafe from London for a while now with their mix of psychedelic riffs, desert punk and doom rock. Pavlos Demetriou's guitar solos can be so intense that fire literally bursts from his guitar neck, while the rest of the band keeps things together with heavy drumming, thick bass lines and melodic vocals.
Hell Valley High, from Utrecht, combines fat grooves and heavy riffs with pounding bass lines, pounding drums and a good dose of punk rock energy. The quintet guarantees powerful songs full of melodic depth, grunge influences, catchy choruses and strong vocals. The music is inspired by Fu Manchu, Truckfighters, Red Fang, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, among others. In October 2024, their debut album, Welcome to Hell Valley, was released on the Italian quality label Argonauta Records.
