**On October 23rd, we’re taking you on a psychedelic journey with BALTHVS! This unique funk trio from Bogotá, Colombia was formed during the pandemic, while escaping the chaos of the city in the countryside. Balthazar Aguirre (guitar, vocals), Johanna Mercuriana (bass, vocals) and Santiago Lizcano (drums, vocals) have perfectly matched their music to the peaceful atmosphere of the countryside.**

BALTHVS brings a refreshing mix of cumbia, surf rock, funk and Turkish influences. With lyrics in both English and Spanish and a good dose of mystical instrumentals, their music creates a hypnotic experience that reflects the rich psychedelic culture of Colombia. As Balthazar Aguirre puts it so beautifully: “Colombia is very psychedelic, with a lot of traditional medicine and entheogens.” The band is known for their energetic and surprising live shows, often full of improvisation. They have an impressive number of releases to their name, with over 34 singles and 3 albums, and have amassed over 6.8 million streams worldwide. After their success at Colombia’s biggest festival Rock al Parque, their performances at SXSW in Austin, TX, and their debut tour in Europe, BALTHVS is now coming to BIRD.
