The Story of Travis, an impressive family story about the American Travis who looks back on his life. What is it like to be sent into the world as your family's only hope?

Introduction

This introduction is designed in collaboration with Well Made Productions & The Black Archives, the unique and historical archive where one can go for inspiring conversations, substantive activities and books from black and other perspectives that are often underexposed elsewhere. A narrator provides historical context to the performance about an underexposed part of our history.

Installation

In collaboration with The Black Archives, you will be introduced to black history through archive footage and short stories, a missing chapter in many history books. In the foyer of the theatres - also on tour - there is an audiovisual installation that the audience can operate themselves. The historical fragments are combined with stories by Romana Vrede (director) & Alida Dors (choreographer) about the making of this performance. There will be an audience host present to engage in conversation.

The goal of the introduction and installation is to make you hungry for the show, but certainly not on an empty stomach! That's why we start with a drink and you will be served snacks both upon arrival and towards the end of the introduction.
