In A Complete Unknown we follow Timothée Chalamet as Bob Dylan during the first four years of his career, from his arrival in New York to the beginning of his electric period. We observe his love life, his encounters with other folk musicians and above all – a lot of music.
New York City, early 1960s. A 19-year-old Minnesotan arrives at a vibrant music scene during a culturally turbulent time in the West Village. Armed with his electric guitar and immense talent, Bob is driven to change the course of American music. As he builds cherished relationships, his fame grows, but so does his restlessness and rebellion. Refusing to be pigeonholed within the music industry, he chooses to create controversial electronic music that resonates culturally around the world.
